Join us for a rejuvenating yoga and aromatherapy retreat on April 6-7 to soften and reset in Mashiko, Tochigi. This event is organised by Sofia, Tim, and Kai, who first connected through an organic farm community in Yokosuka. Yoga sessions will be conducted in English with Japanese support and are open to all experience levels. Each session concludes with a brief head massage to relieve tension, followed by complimentary homemade chai.
Aromatherapy offers a range of benefits for the body and mind, many of which are particularly helpful for women’s health. Some in particular help alleviate PMS symptoms such as mood swings, cramps, bloating, fatigue, and hormonal imbalance. Here is a brief guide on how each of them works and how you could incorporate them into your daily rituals.

とろける日 (“Day to melt away”) was Kogi-san’s idea where friends and local community members could gather and reconnect with themselves and one another through sharing meals and conversations while experiencing an array of alternative, natural remedies such as Thai massage, hypnotherapy and aromatherapy. This November I will be returning to Kogi-san’s home, giving aromatherapy treatments and working in the presence of experienced practitioners like Takayanagi-san from Fura’s room and Hokkaido-based Thai massage therapist Momoko-san.

At this year's ishinoko I will be hosting a pop-up in collaboration with @rot.sh0p, an online distributor of leftist zines, books and printed matters. We will offer bodywork treatments and a selection of artworks and zines in both English and Japanese, available at either a fixed price or on a sliding scale. All proceeds (minus cost) from the bodywork treatments and zine sales will be directed to supporting families in Gaza or contributing to mutual aid efforts addressing urgent needs on the ground.
